The sabretache was introduced in 1850 for enlisted men and non-commissioned officers of the 2nd Leib-Husaren Regiment as well as all line regiments. Depending on the color of the braiding, the applied ornament was yellow (brass) or white (nickel silver). On the present piece, the applied ornament was changed from yellow (for HR7) to white during the period of service. Most likely the bearer transferred to another regiment.

Rare! The eagle was still worn on the square top (Vierkant) of the Czapka Model 1843. The silver eagle was for regiments with silver button color. In 1860 the eagle received the so-called “Vaterlandsbandeau” (Fatherland bandeau), which was later also struck into the design. In 1867 a new Czapka model was introduced, which also had a slightly modified eagle that was now worn on the helmet bell.

Adjutants wore the sash diagonally from the right to the left hip. The “adjutant's sash” differed from the parade sash only in that the latter was wider, approximately 6 cm. The present example was definitely worn as an adjutant's sash, but is only as wide as the parade sash.

circa 1905. Heavy gold/silver general's braid with black interwoven strands. Applied silver Generalfeldmarschall batons as well as the crowned silvered regimental cipher “G R”. The blue cloth backing in the color of the regiment. Worn with very fine patina, the loops are missing on the underside, with slight moth damage to the backing cloth. In good overall condition, extremely rare. From September 14, 1902 with monogram crowned “GR” initials of the regimental chief Prince Georg of Saxony.
