Circa 1900. Tombac gorget, mounted on front with gilt crossed flags with crown and cipher “WR”, mounted on sides with two grenades with oak and laurel leaves, without suspension chain, right suspension loop broken off, left suspension loop replaced, without cloth backing. Worn condition, Grade 2-.
This form of gorget with cipher “WR” was worn by standard bearers of Infantry, Jäger, Schützen, Pioneer and Foot Artillery regiments in Prussia, Baden, Anhalt, Oldenburg, Braunschweig and the Thuringian states. In Prussia additionally also in Telegraph and Railway battalions. For regiments with yellow button color the gorget was made of tombac and for regiments with white button color of nickel silver.
