Honor Bowl of Meissen Porcelain of the Royal Saxon “3rd Karabinier Cavalry Regiment 1849-1918”

Blue decoration under glaze, in the center with the crowned regimental cipher and the dates “1849-1918”, circumferentially the battles “Buzancy, Anczlawka, Helsingfors”. Reverse with crossed swords mark and number, with the original suspension device. Undamaged, condition 2+.

On November 1, 1849, the 3rd Heavy Cavalry Regiment was stationed in Borna. The regiment participated in the wars of 1864, 1866, and 1870/71. On April 23, 1876, Colonel von Walther announced that the regiment would henceforth bear the name “Karabinier Regiment”. Between 1893 - 1901, the barracks were built in Borna on today's Stauffenbergstrasse, and the squadrons from Pegau were also relocated to Borna.

In the World War 1914 - 1918, the Karabinier Regiment fought in the Baltic region and in Finland. After the lost war, the regiment was disbanded in 1919.

On the reverse, with dedication "For collaboration in the construction of the Reichsautobahnen, gratitude and recognition - Dr. Todt In the year of decision 1941". With impressed KPM mark. Undamaged, condition 2+.

Dr. Fritz Todt served from 1933 as Inspector General for Road Construction, responsible among other duties for the construction of the Autobahn system. From 1940 he was Reich Minister for Armaments and Munitions and thus responsible for the entire war industry. In 1942 Dr. Todt was killed in an aircraft crash.
