SMS S 178 was a Large Torpedo Boat of the 1906 official design with turbine propulsion of the Imperial German Navy. The vessel belonged to a four-unit construction series built by Schichau-Werke. S 178 was rammed by the armored cruiser Yorck on March 4, 1913 and sank. That same year, the Navy had the wreck raised and restored to service. In 1918 it received the designation T 178. The vessel was scrapped in 1922.

Cap tallies bearing the name of a torpedo boat were officially issued only to units serving on foreign stations. Additionally, some cap tallies with names of torpedo boats are known that were worn only unofficially.

The S.M.S. Wittelsbach, launched in 1900 at the Imperial Dockyard Wilhelmshaven, was the first of five battleships of the Wittelsbach-class named after her, of the Imperial German Navy.

Manufactured circa 1918, towards the end of the war cap tallies were no longer produced with metal thread. Silver-white woven for technical personnel. Length 77 cm. Unworn, condition 2+.
We were able to acquire an original package containing 10 cap tallies, with the wrapper printed “II. Seeflieger-Abt. 10 Stück kurze Mützenbänder Weisse Inschrift. Wilhelmshaven, den 12.2.1018.” Price per piece EUR 350.--

The SMS Victoria Louise was the lead ship of the five-vessel class of Light Cruisers II. Class (protected cruisers) of the Imperial Navy named after her. She was employed as a training ship and undertook voyages to the USA, among others.

The “Marine-Landflieger-Abteilung” in Johannisthal consisted of the remnants of the “Freiwilligen Marinefliegerkorps” which were not incorporated in September 1915 into the two naval aviation detachments or the “Marinelandfliegerabteilungen” in Flanders, which from September 1915 were called “Marinefeldfliegerabteilungen”, and comprised the domestic naval land aviation stations Johannisthal, Scheuen, Barge, Hage, Nordholz, Tondern, Kiel, Seddin and Langfuhr.

SMS Yorck was the second and last ship of the Roon-class of the Imperial German Navy. The armored cruiser, officially classified as a large cruiser, built by Blohm & Voss in Hamburg, served in the active fleet of the German Navy from 1905 to 1913. Reactivated at the beginning of World War I, the cruiser sank on November 4, 1914 in the Jade estuary after striking two mines.
