Allgemeine SS Black Visor Cap for an SS-Mann "Scheiwitz", SS Reserve-Standarte I, II. Zug
Chamber piece, circa 1933/34. Early flat saddle form, made of black wool cloth with white piping. The cap eagle and death's head 1st model in nickel-plated finish, black leather chin strap in the special form for the SS. On the left side affixed the Edelweiss as insignia of belonging to SS-Oberabschnitt Alpenland. Interior with brown sweatband leather, damaged on the left side. Red-brown oilcloth lining, the cap diamond removed by the wearer as with so many caps. Under the brown sweatband leather with the large white SS/RZM cloth label "SS Dienstmütze" with handwritten "membership number of the wearer: 1346382", in the sweatband with handwritten wearer designation "W. Scheiwitz, Zug II, Reserve St. I". The visor cap is clearly worn, with typical wear and age traces, at the rear on the white piping with some light moth damage, condition 2-3.
