2nd Model 1939 - 1947. The order chain of silver gilt, partially enameled, the chain links with the coats of arms of the provinces: Golden Eagle “Wallachia”, head of the aurochs “Moldavia”, the bridge “Banat”, 2 dolphins “Dobruja” and the coat of arms of Transylvania. The clasp with the crowned cipher “C” of the founder King Carol II of Romania. The badge also of silver gilt, finely enameled on both sides, with enameled crown. Chain and badge in original case of black leather, the interior with dark red velvet lining and white silk lining respectively.

Based on the agreement with Prince Friedrich of Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen of October 1, 1935, King Carol II adopted the Princely Hohenzollern House Order as the Royal Romanian Order and conferred it until 1939. After Carol II took up his exile in Estoril in Portugal from 1940, he established various additional classes and variants and conferred the order as an exile decoration. The orders of that period were manufactured by da Costa in Lissabon. Order chain of exceptionally great rarity and known in only a few examples.
