Kriegsmarine - Small Group belonging to an Obergefreiter of Coastal Artillery and Member of Marine-Küstenbatterie Malo Terminus

MKB St. Malo Terminus
This naval coastal battery is located on the beaches of Northern France, adjacent to the port city of Dunkirk. In 1778, the Batterie Zuydcoote was constructed at this location by the French. It originally served for coastal defense and protection of the port of Dunkirk against the British. In 1879, the site was further expanded. By 1939, the battery comprised 13 French guns with a range of 26 km. In 1940, it was captured by the German invaders, expanded, and integrated into the Atlantic Wall. The former Batterie Zuydcoote was renamed “Batterie Malo Terminus”.
The site was expanded with:
1 x M 162 a (fire control post for light naval target batteries)
1 x R 134 (ammunition shelter)
1 x Vf 2a (group shelter)
1 x Vf 7a (ammunition shelter)
4 x R 671 (embrasure emplacement for guns with 120° radius)
