Mecklenburg-Schwerin - Pair of Epaulettes of Grand Duke Friedrich-Franz IV as General der Kavallerie and Chief of the I. and III. Battalions of the Grand Ducal Mecklenburg Grenadier Regiment Nr. 89

Circa 1910. Large format with silver bullion fields, applied in gold the large crowned cipher “FFG” and two rank stars, silver crescents, rigid silver bullion, red cloth lining. In the original burgundy box lined with white silk with crowned gold imprint “Mecklenburger Grenadier Epauletten
”. The epaulettes in outstanding condition, the lid of the box somewhat faded and with water stains. Condition 2.

Mecklenburg-Schwerin Parade-Satteldecke (Schabracke) für Offiziere im 1. Großherzoglich Mecklenburgischen Dragoner-Regiment Nr. 17

Standort Ludwigslust. Um 1900. Die Satteldecke mit einem einem Besatz von dunkelbraunem "Astrachan"-Fell (Fell von einigen Tagen alten Lämmern des Astrachanschafs), am Rand der ca. 9.5 cm breite Besatz aus ponceau-roten Stoff, in jeder Ecke der vergoldete "Stern der wendischen Krone", die beiden vorderen Sterne etwas kleiner gefertigt, am Rand auf jeder Seite eine Lederapplikation für die Beine des Reiters, auf der Unterseite mit schwarzem Leinenstoff. Sehr schön erhalten! Zustand 2++.

Extrem selten! Nach unserem Wissensstand handelt es sich um das einzig bekannte Exemplar dieser Satteldecke, welches in den letzten Dekaden im Handel angeboten wurde!

Die beiden mecklenburgischen Dragoner-Regimenter waren die einzigen beiden Regimenter im Deutsche Heer, die Satteldecken dieser Art führten!

Chamber piece 1916. Cotton fabric in the colors red and yellow. On the hem chamber stamp “B.-A.IX”, “2. Esk.”, as well as manufacturer “Ernst B... Königsberg 1916”. Condition 2.

The two Mecklenburg Dragoon Regiments were subordinated to the IX. Army Corps and belonged to the 4th Cavalry Division. From the end of 1914 this division operated on the Eastern Front.
