Sachsen-Weimar

The garrison of Infantry Regiment 94 was Weimar/Eisenach/Jena. The helmet circa 1914. Leather helmet, complete with all fittings in gilt finish. Front features the Prussian line eagle, for reserve officers without motto, mounted with the high-domed silvered star with the special Saxon coat of arms for Weimar with laurel and oak leaf wreath, a beautiful variant in particularly small execution, below this mounted on the eagle is the small silvered Landwehr cross with the motto “Mit Gott für Fürst u. Vaterland” (With God for Prince and Fatherland). Flat scale chin chains on rosettes, both cockades. The extra tall spike is removable. Interior with brown leather sweatband and green silk grosgrain lining, the front visor lined in green and the rear visor in red, handwritten size “57 ½” inside the bell. The crown is somewhat sunken at the front and on the left side, a crack is visible in the bell at the front of the crown. The sweatband bears a stamp and owner designation "Kratzsch, Leutnant u. Kompf. Landst.-Inf.-Reg. No. 33 7. Kompagnie." Lightly worn, condition 2.

Landsturm Infantry Regiment No. 33 was established on July 21, 1916 with staff, II. & III. Battalion by the Deputy General Command IV. Army Corps and with I. Battalion on July 20, 1916 by the Deputy General Command XVI. Army Corps and was subordinated to the 8th Army. Lieutenant Kratzsch was detached to the III. Battalion upon formation and became company commander of the 7th Company.
