Wehrmacht Heer Marksmanship Honor Dagger for the Best Marksman of the Non-Commissioned Officers' Corps of the 5th Company, Infantry Regiment No. 30
This is a fine example manufactured by Gustav Spitzer Solingen, silver-plated non-ferrous metal hilt, lightly patinated, orange grip in amber imitation with steep fluting, blade etched on both sides: obverse with floral motifs and national eagle in the center, reverse also with floral motifs and additionally inscribed in the center "Dem besten Schützen des Uffz.-Korps der 5./I.R. 30. Offizierskorps der Kleist-Grenadiere" and the manufacturer's mark "Gustav Spitzer Solingen", nickel-plated scabbard without significant damage, complete with sword knot and hanger in deluxe execution, one buckle slightly out of shape.
The marksmanship honor dagger was donated by the former officers of Grenadier Regiment “Graf Kleist von Nollendorf” (1st West Prussian) No. 6, as the 5th Company of Infantry Regiment 30 had assumed the traditions of this regiment. The bearer could only have been a Feldwebel, since only Portepee non-commissioned officers were authorized to carry the officer's dagger. Very interesting dagger in good condition. Condition 2
Infantry Regiment Görlitz was established during the expansion of the Reichswehr to the Wehrmacht on October 1, 1934 in the then Wehrkreis III.
