Prussian Pickelhaube for an Officer in the Hanoverian Pioneer Battalion Nr. 10

Garrison Minden, circa 1913. Elegant leather helmet, complete with all fittings in silver-plated finish. The helmet eagle with “frost” silver plating and polished edges, applied bandeaus “Peninsula - Waterloo”. Flat gilt chin scales with silver slide rosettes, both cockades in officer's quality, tall elegant spike with gilt star screws. Interior with light-colored sweatband, light silk lining, size 55 1/2. Only lightly worn, still uncleaned with beautiful patina, condition 2.
A very rare helmet, the battalion had only approximately 15-20 officers.
