South African Patriotic Commemorative Knife

This is a commemorative pocket knife with clear reference to the Boer nationalist heritage of South Africa. It likely dates from the first half or mid-20th century. Features two blades and opener, steel grip scales, engraved on both sides: with the motto “Eendracht maakt macht” (“Unity makes strength”) as well as the names of the two historic Boer republics: “Oranje Vrystaat” and “Transvaal” with state coat of arms, on the other side are the portraits of the President of the South African Republic (Transvaal) Paul Kruger and famous Boer General Christian de Wet.
