Circa 1810/20. Strongly curved Damascus blade, 3.1 cm wide and 76 cm long, with yelman point, the blade with fullers on both sides, the lower third of the blade etched on both sides and decorated with scrollwork and trophies, the panels with granulated bluing, the decorations gilded, the point combat-sharpened, the blade with only minor spotting. Steel hilt with S-shaped crossguard with finials shaped as “acorns,” the center bars with radial decoration, the grip scales of genuine ivory, complete with chain. Blued steel scabbard with two ring mounts and movable suspension rings, the obverse decorated with etched scrollwork and floral patterns, partially somewhat worn, maker's mark on the drag on one side. Accompanied by CITES permit for sale, import and export under the Washington Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species, dated 2023.
