Weimar Republic Harbor Fire Brigade Dagger for Fire Chief

This is a very fine example, circa 1930. The grip and scabbard fittings are nickel-plated. The grip is made of white synthetic material similar to the Reichsmarine pattern, with silver-plated wire wrap. Flame-shaped pommel, broad crossguard. Long bright blade with supplier marking “Deutsch. Offiz. Verein Berlin”. Black leather scabbard with nickel-plated fittings and suspension hook for belt frog. The throat and crossguard are both numbered “128” in matching stamps. Complete with original knotted portepee (sword knot). Overall length approximately 52 cm. The dagger shows light wear overall, in good untouched original condition. A fine piece.
