Circa 1885. The bandolier of black leather with gold braid and finely crafted gilt fittings, interior with gold-stamped manufacturer's mark, the cartridge pouch also of black leather, the flap covered with black fabric and richly decorated with gold embroidery, at center the Royal coat of arms with the motto “Honi soit qui mal y pense” and “Dieu et mon droit”, below which a cannon in metal appliqué, beneath that the banner “Scottish Division”. The sabretache in its black leather cover, the interior lined with red velvet, the sabretache itself also of black leather, the flap covered with black fabric, edged with gold braid, the center with rich gold embroidery decoration, at top the Royal coat of arms with the mottos “Honi soit qui mal y pense” and “Dieu et mon droit” as well as “ubique quo fas et gloria ducunt”. Brass, hammered, dimensions approximately 13 x 8.5 cm, engraved in the center “Prince Charles Frederick of Prussia - Shot down in Albatros (DI) on 21.3.17 near Bapaume”, Condition 2.
Friedrich Karl of Prussia commanded Fliegerabteilung (Artillerie) 258, but flew patrols as often as possible together with Oswald Boelcke (1891–1916). During one such flight on March 21, 1917, he was wounded in the foot and forced to land due to hits to his aircraft. Although he landed in no man's land, he was shot in the back by Australian troops while attempting to reach his own lines. The Australians took him prisoner, where he died of his wounds on April 6, 1917, at Saint-Étienne-du-Rouvray.

Circa 1900. Cork helmet with olive green cloth cover and nickel silver fittings, front bearing the distinctive unit emblem, a crowned star with applied coat of arms inscribed “Universitas Cantabrigiensis” on the bandeau below and above the coat of arms the cipher “CVR”, cross-piece with rose screws, one replaced in period, the spike removable. Complete with chin strap. Interior with brown sweatband and remnants of red silk lining, around the ventilation hole the maker “Samuel Brothers London”, the visors lined in green inside. Size approximately 54. Together with the bandolier of brown leather with nickel silver fittings, the cartridge box at front again with the distinctive coat of arms. Condition 2.
