Regensburg circa 1902. Large-format photo album measuring approximately 32 x 40 x 7 cm with leather binding and fittings made of genuine silver (!), decorated with tendril patterns, on the left a “Landsknecht” (mercenary), on the Landsknecht's flag the motto “Integer atque purus” (steadfast and pure), the Landsknecht's shield bearing the cipher “IR11 'von der Tann'”, in the center the inscription “The Officers, Physicians and Officials of the Royal 11th Infantry Regiment von der Tann in grateful remembrance to their highly esteemed Commander.”. With 12 leaves each containing several photographs on each page, views of Regensburg as well as cabinet photographs of each officer beginning with the Deputy Commander Lieutenant Colonel Heinrich Schuster. The clasps for the album are missing, the edges somewhat rubbed. Condition 2.
A very fine testament to the history of the regiment. Arneth was a veteran of the Franco-Prussian War and a highly respected and decorated officer.
