Mecklenburg-Schwerin Dragoon Officer's Helmet - Helmet from the Estate of Paul Friedrich Wilhelm Heinrich, Duke of Mecklenburg
In the style worn from 1848 to 1865. Worn by Paul Friedrich Wilhelm Heinrich, Duke of Mecklenburg, who entered the Dragoon Regiment in 1864 as Second Lieutenant at the age of 12 years.
The helmet conforms in all details to the standard pattern, however handcrafted in boy's size. Very elaborate interior fittings: red morocco leather, green front visor lining, neck guard with dark blue velvet. The silk lining is missing. On the right side the blue-red-yellow cockade, the removable ball finial slightly dented.
Lightly worn in very fine condition. An absolutely unique helmet of museum quality!
