Spanish Civil War 1936-1939: large silver bravery medal "Medalla Militar Individual" with diamonds, belonging to General Hellmuth Volkmann
It is a production of the well-known company Laiseca, Madrid. Large solid silver embossed design, encircled by a wreath of 29 simili stones. On the top the ring for the ribbon with the maker's mark of Laiseca. Complete on the original ribbon and cawearing clasp, in very nice condition.
During the Spanish Civil War, the "Medalla Militar Individual" with diamonds was awarded only to the 3 commanders of the Legion Condor: the Generals v. Richthofen, Sperrle and Volkmann.
This order comes from the pesonal possession of General Hellmuth Volkmann, from November 1937 until the end of 1938 he was the commander of the Legion Condor in Spain. It came directly from the family's possession. We were able to buy this piece together with his Luftwaffen Generalsdegen and the Spanish Cross in gold with diamonds.
