Large award certificate, handwritten to “His Excellency the Romanian Minister of Defense, Major General Constantin Pantazi,” dated Berlin, November 14, 1941, with large embossed seal and original signatures of “Adolf Hitler” and “Meissner.” Minor tear in the upper margin, otherwise in excellent condition. Accompanied by the regulations and statutes of the Order of Merit of the German Eagle, as well as the original mailing envelope with the recipient's name.
Extremely rare, only 2 other examples are known worldwide.
Constantin Pantazi (born 1888, died 1958) was a Romanian Army General and Minister of Defense until the overthrow of Field Marshal Antonescu on August 23, 1944. Pantazi was sentenced to death by a tribunal in 1946, but was not executed; he died in Romania in 1958.
