WWI Honor Goblet "To the Victor in Aerial Combat"

Honor Goblet "To the Victor in Aerial Combat", executed in silver-plated iron. The base with embossed inscription around the circumference "Dem Sieger im Luftkampf". On the underside with stamp "Chef des Feldflugwesens" (Chief of Military Aviation). The honor goblet with light patina, the silver plating still very well preserved, in beautiful condition. Complete in original presentation case, exterior dark blue with gold border around the circumference, interior with yellow lining and bed for the honor goblet. Condition 2.
There are several versions of the case for the honor goblet. While the early models still had space for the wooden base, this is likely the last model; following this design, the cases for the Luftwaffe Honor Goblet in WWII were also manufactured.

Peacetime garrisons Döberitz, Grossenhain, Jüterbog, circa 1914. Field-gray shoulder boards with field-gray metal devices, with loops. Execution with white piping for the 1st Battalion. Unworn, slight moth damage, condition 2-. 
The shoulder boards of the Flieger Bataillone featured secondary branch colors for the battalions only at the beginning of the war.
