German Empire World War I Steel Helmet M 18 for Cavalry with Ear Cutouts

Manufactured circa 1918. The original paint finish is present on the interior, the later Reichswehr paint finish on the exterior, interior liner attached to the metal ring with three padding cushions, filling preserved in all three, the front padding cushion has an old tear, manufacturer's stamp on the side “E.T. 64” (Eisenhüttenwerk Thale A.G., Thale a/Harz), complete with the rare Reichswehr chin strap with toggle closure. Condition 2.
The Steel Helmet M 18 was manufactured in very limited numbers.

Wehrmacht Steel Helmet M 18 Cavalry with Both Insignia from the Estate of Generalmajor Freiherr Rudolf Heinrich von Recum (*1861, † 1944)

Circa 1935. The original paint of the old army overpainted with the stone gray Wehrmacht finish, both sides with eagle shield and national emblem. Interior with the 3-piece liner on leather ring with three padding cushions, filling intact on all three, manufacturer's stamp on side no longer discernible, complete with chin strap with clip fastener. Condition 2.

A very fine piece! The Steel Helmet M 18 was manufactured in only small quantities.
