Brunswick Pickelhaube for Officers of Infantry Regiment No. 92

Brunswick, in the style worn from 1912 onwards. Elegant helmet of patent leather, complete with all fittings in gilt finish. Prussian helmet eagle fire-gilt with polished edges, with bandeau “Mit Gott für Fuerst und Vaterland”, surmounted by large silvered death's head above the bandeau “Peninsula”, the eyes backed with black velvet. Flat scale chin chains, both cockades, tall elegant service spike. Interior with light brown sweatband, green silk lining, size 56. Only minimally worn in excellent condition.
This is one of the most sought-after and rarest helmets of the Old Army. One of the very few originals.

Prussian Pickelhaube for Officers of the Mounted Grenadier Regiment Freiherr v. Derfflinger (Neumark) No. 3

Stationed at Bromberg in Pomerania, circa 1914. Elegant leather helmet, complete with all fittings in silver-plated finish. “Frosted” silver-plated wide grenadier eagle with polished edges. Domed gilt chin scales on silver rosettes with embossed flaming grenades, both cockades present. Silver front plate with gilt stars and tall elegant spike. Squared front visor. Interior of helmet shell lined with black felt, dark brown sweatband and light brown silk lining, under the sweatband on the sides with special mounting plates for the flaming grenades. Size 55. The helmet is only lightly worn and in exceptionally fine condition.

This is certainly the rarest helmet of the Prussian cavalry! In over 35 years, this is only the 5th helmet we have been able to offer!

Brunswick Pickelhaube for an Officer in Infantry Regiment No. 92, I. and II. Battalion

Brunswick, circa 1910. Elegant leather helmet, complete with all fittings in gilt finish. Prussian helmet eagle with the special bandeau “Mit Gott für Fuerst und Vaterland”, above it a large silvered star of the House Order, the cross arms blue, the center red enameled, the applied ornaments partly silvered and partly gilt. Below the bandeau “Peninsula”, on the sides the oak leaf and laurel leaf ornaments gilt. Flat gilt scale chin chains on rosettes, both cockades present. Spike unscrewable. The top plate with star screws. Interior with light-colored sweatband and white silk lining. Size 57. Minimally worn, condition 2+. Very well preserved.

From 1912 onwards, officers in all 3 battalions uniformly wore the death's head (Totenkopf) on the eagle; the enameled House Order as applied ornament was abolished.


This is one of the most sought-after and rarest helmets of the Old Army.
