Luftwaffe Honor Goblet for Special Achievement in Aerial Warfare for Unteroffizier Wilfried Stubbe

Nickel silver execution with engraving "Unteroffizier Wilfried Stubbe am 4.8.42", stamped on the underside of the base with Nickel silver fine silver plate "Joh. Wagner & Sohn". The goblet in mint condition with slight patina. Complete in rare presentation case. Blue exterior, white silk lid interior and blue velvet bed. Condition 2+.
Honor Goblets in original presentation case are very rarely found!


Unfortunately we could not find any further information about the Unteroffizier. However, from the same estate comes the Combined Pilot and Observer Badge, article # 460721 and its case # 460722.

Silver version with engraving "Feldwebel Kurt Pichler am 6.10.40", stamped on the underside of the base "Joh. Wagner & Sohn Halbmond Krone 835 Adler".

In the early afternoon of January 16, 1941, the 17 Ju 88 A aircraft of II. and III./LG 1, escorted by 20 Bf 110 of ZG 26, flew toward La Valletta, where the aircraft carrier HMS Illustrious was moored in French Creek. Over the harbor, the bombers were attacked by fighters of FAA Squadron 806, which reported two kills. The German Luftwaffe lost over Malta the Ju 88 A-5, W.Nr. 2275, L1+CT of 9. Staffel with pilot Oblt. Kurt Pichler, whose crew was reported missing.
