Wehrmacht Parade Tunic and Medal Bar from the Estate of Generalleutnant Adolf Lechner

The parade tunic was manufactured in 1939. Elegant construction of field-gray gabardine in finest officer quality with dark green collar. Complete with all insignia. Gold metallic thread hand-embroidered breast eagle on dark green cloth hand-sewn. The button panel with 8 gilt buttons and red piping. Sewn-in shoulder boards with heavy general's braid and one silver-plated rank star each as Generalleutnant. Under the right shoulder board with button for attaching the gold parade aiguillette. The collar tabs for generals with gold embroidery on red background machine-sewn. On the chest loops for the long ribbon bar with 7 decorations: Iron Cross 1914 2nd Class, Bavaria Military Merit Cross 3rd Class with Crown and Swords, Oldenburg Friedrich-August Cross 1914 2nd Class, Honor Cross for Frontline Combatants 1914-1918, Wehrmacht Long Service Awards for 25 and 12 years with ribbon eagles, Bavaria Prince Regent Luitpold Medal in Bronze. Below the loops for the Iron Cross 1914 1st Class with clasp "1939", loops for the Wound Badge. Further on the chest the Oldenburg Friedrich-August Cross 1914 1st Class, slightly convex, on screw disk. On the right chest loops for the German Cross in Gold. At the left hip with sewn-in slit for wearing the officer's saber. Inside green silk lining, at the side on the inner pocket with tailor's label "Herrn Gen. Major A. Lechner den 6. April 1939", further label in the skirt "G. Wostrack & Sohn Koblenz". Measurements: shoulder width 49 cm, sleeve length 58 cm, back length 68.5 cm.

Adolf Lechner, born December 7, 1884 in Kolmar. Entry as officer cadet into the Bavarian Army 1906. Promotion to Leutnant on July 20, 1908 in the Bavarian 4th Field Artillery Regiment. Active participation in World War I as front-line officer, discharged on August 22, 1919 and transfer to the Bavarian State Police. On September 1, 1935 return to the Wehrmacht with the rank of Oberst, commander of Artillery Regiment No. 10. Promotion to Generalmajor on March 1, 1939. From 1940 Artillery Commander of the Border Troops Saarpfalz. Generalmajor Adolf Lechner was from April 1941 until January 31, 1942 Artillery Commander 112 (Arko 112) with the staff of XXIII Army Corps. From February 1, 1942 - December 15, 1942 Higher Artillery Commander 308 2nd Army, Army Group Center. Promotion to Generalleutnant on March 1, 1942. From December 15, 1942 Commander of the 377th Infantry Division, Army Group Center. Award of the German Cross in Gold on April 9, 1943. Generalleutnant Lechner was reported missing during the fighting around Voronezh on January 29, 1943.

Wehrmacht Aluminum Helmet M 36 with Both Emblems

This is a parade helmet made of aluminum circa 1938, which was overpainted in field gray during the war and continued to be worn. The original apple green finish was overpainted in field gray, with the paint 95% intact. Eagle shield 95% intact, the national emblem 95% intact. Complete with official Wehrmacht liner M 31 on aluminum ring and chinstrap. Interior with original label “Robert Lubstein Erel Berlin No. 55..”. Size 58. Worn helmet in good untouched original condition. A rare variant.
