Knight's Cross with Oak Leaves and Swords to the Iron Cross 1939

Both the Knight's Cross and the Oak Leaves with Swords are products manufactured by the firm “C.E. Juncker, Berlin”. The Knight's Cross is a typical production of the firm C.E. Juncker, Berlin - Model “L/12”. Particularly robust blackened iron core with silver frame. Reverse side stamped “800” and “L/12”. The Oak Leaves with Swords also “frosted” silver-plated with polished edges, on the reverse side on the right “L 12” as manufacturer's designation embossed in relief, on the left “800” silver, also embossed in relief. Complete with worn original ribbon.
The piece shows clear signs of wear with beautiful patina.
Extremely rare, in over 30 years this is only the 3rd Oak Leaves with Swords by the firm Juncker that we have been able to offer.

The firm C.E. Juncker manufactured Knight's Crosses since 1939 and supplied them to the Orders Chancellery. However, Juncker did not receive a contract for the delivery of Oak Leaves and Swords, these were supplied to the Orders Chancellery by the firm Godet. The firm Juncker delivered only a few pieces for the decorations trade until the end of 1941, until the sale of Knight's Crosses was discontinued.

The Oak Leaves with Swords by the firm C. E. Juncker is described in specialist literature by Harald Geissler “Das Eiserne Kreuz 1813 bis heute” on page 234 as well as by Detlev Niemann “Orden und Ehrenzeichen Deutschland” page 471.

Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross 1939

This Knight's Cross is one of the very early productions by C.E. Juncker Berlin, 1939/40. The blackened core is non-magnetic, the frame is made of nickel silver, and the suspension loop is stamped “800” silver. Complete with the early ready-made neck ribbon for Juncker Knight's Crosses, the red center stripe still in the “diluted light red.”
A piece with beautiful patina and great presence.
This piece is the identical production of the Knight's Cross that was awarded to Generalfeldmarschall von Brauchitsch on September 30, 1939.

In recent years, this piece was displayed at the “Eyewitness Museum” in Beek, Netherlands, which closed in 2022.
