Prussian Lion Head Saber for Cavalry Officers
Slightly curved fullered blade with fuller, genuine Damascus steel, etched and gilded in the area of the false edge, on one side the Imperial Eagle, on the other side two coats of arms, presumably a wedding gift, on the blade spine the maker “Ewald Cleff Solingen”, the brass hilt in the style of sabers circa 1840, lion head pommel with crossed paws, simple knuckle guard with knight's helmet, angular quillons, front side with crossed sabers, ray skin grip with intact wire wrapping, original blued steel scabbard with one fixed suspension ring, lightly worn, in very good condition, a very beautiful weapon.
